Jura-Capresso Impressa F9 Fully Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center
Product Review The Impressa F90 from Jura-Capresso combines fine-coffee know-how with touch-screen technology, an Aluframe structure, and honest-to-God Internet connectivity. Like Jura-Capresso's other top-of-the-line models, the Impressa F90 is fully automatic. It grinds, tamps, brews, and steams with the touch of a few icons on its control panel. Designed with both exacting standards and user preference in mind, the machine is pre-programmed at the factory for excellent results. It can also be tailored to your specific tastes for coffee strength, water amount, temperature, and steam quantity. You can also customize the separate hot water function for bespoke cafe americanos. Purchase Jura-Capresso's connectivity kit separately and you can even store individual coffee-drinkers' preferences in the F90's electronics. Built for power, the F90 uses a 15-bar pump and a single 1450-watt ThermoBlock heating unit lined in stainless steel for a flavor-neutral, corrosion-resistant structure. The six-stage conical grinder, also made from stainless steel, delivers consistent results, while the patented brewing unit creates the ideal pressure conditions for perfecting crema. A pre-brew system moistens and conditions grounds for maximum aroma and flavor. The F90 has several self-maintenance features, including automatic rinsing, cleaning, and de-calcifying functions. Other handy extras include an illuminated cup area, adjustable coffee spout, and multi-language display. The water tank holds 64 ounces, while the bean tank stores 7 ounces. Designed for the countertop, the machine measures 11 by 16 by 12-1/2 inches. --Emily Bedard Product Description This machine has been refurbished by Capresso. It could be, but isn't. The thing that separates it is primarily the price, otherwise just about anybody who drinks coffee should absolutely love this machine. This machine can and does make excellent coffee, cafe americano. It makes very good, but not excellent espresso. You can do as good or better with this machine than you'll probably get at a chain coffee shop. The key to quality coffee on this is to use HIGH QUALITY coffee beans. I mean specifically beans that are recently roasted. The more recently roasted the beans, the better off you are (optimum use date is 2 days after roasting). I recommend coffee from www.intelligentsiacoffee.com (try their accidental/occidental and house blends) or www.victrolacoffee.com (streamline espresso). Make sure you use the high temperature setting for best results, also. When making espresso, I think it helps to warm the machine up for making steam before you make the espresso (gives more flavor). The steam wand is OK, but somewhat limited in that it's hard to get some frothing pitchers maneuvered in for frothing. True coffee geeks will want a high-quality espresso machine where you can control the tamping of your grind, along with a quality burr grinder because you're not going to get a "God Shot" from the F9. But for the rest of us, and even coffee geeks that enjoy the ease of single-button coffee/espresso quickly in the morning, this machine is very capable.
