In 1970, the International Standards Organization defined the shape and dimensions of the universal INAO wine tasting glass. Since then, the INAO glass has become widely accepted as the industry standard. It has also been approved by the World Wine and Vine Organization. INAO glasses are a favorite with wine tasting groups because egg-shaped bowl of the INAO Tasting Glass concentrates aromas to enhance the evaluation and appreciation of subtle characteristics in fine wines. Vintage Glass improved on the standard INAO tasting glass by adding The Blind SpotTM, a sand blasted dot on the base of the glass that allows tasters to label their glasses by writing directly on the glass with a water-based pen, eliminating the need for paper labels or wine charms.
