I ordered this and a different type of soap dispenser at the same time. I had thought this would go nicely in the classic bathroom with pedestal sink. Not so. Pedestal sinks don't really have that much space; in fact, they have a depression for bar soap only. So this went in the kitchen and the sleeker, utilitarian stainless steel dispenser went in the bathroom. The height of this item is 6 inches, the base, at the bottom is 3, and it widens to a chubby mid-section. That said, it works nicely at the kitchen sink where we use liquid soap most often. I'm happy. Its classic lines should fit a number of styles. The pump works nicely. The well holds a considerable amount of soap, meaning refilling is not so constant a task, which is OK by me.
